Muthoni Imungi is the director of field education for the VCU School of Social Work. She is responsible for managing the Office of Field Education, which oversees the field education of approximately 600 B.S.W and M.S.W students each year. B.S.W and M.S.W students complete their field education in agencies and organizations throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Annually, the Office of Field Education partners with approximately 450 social workers, who supervise the field education of all VCU B.S.W and M.S.W. students.
Imungi has had an extensive career in social work field education. She began working in field education in 2004. Before joining VCU, she served as the director of field education at Grand Valley State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
