Meet the faculty and staff

“The profession is orientated to change, and that’s the best part of it. You are involved in bringing about change for the better. It is enjoyable, in the sense of accomplishment, that one can work for positive change and help people change. Many times you don’t necessarily bring about change yourself; rather, you bring about the ability to change in the community or in individuals or families so that they change in a way that they want to. Sometimes you facilitate your students as they bring about change.
“Being a faculty member allows you to move and explore intellectually and do a lot of things with your interests, as well as learn from your colleagues and students. Interesting stuff is always happening if you allow it to happen. My interests are extremely diverse, not only intellectually but also personally, in terms of what I do and what I enjoy doing, and that goes well with the challenges and opportunities as a professor of social work.”
