Staying involved
“There are so many reasons why it is important for alumni to stay connected to the VCU School of Social Work. The knowledge and the experiences that they gain in the world of practice help us understand changes that are taking place in the real world. We provide opportunities for professional continuing education, which provide opportunities for our graduates to grow as practitioners and contribute to helping others help themselves.
“The nature of our curriculum at the baccalaureate level prepares students for leadership in generalist practice; at the master’s level, students are prepared for practice leadership in an area of concentration; and, at the doctoral level for leadership in knowledge generation and dissemination as well as leadership in administrative positions.
“Leadership is a core, a theme and a thread that we expect all our students as graduates to be able to demonstrate.”
