For alumni and friends
As alumni of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work, we value your continued involvement with the school and affiliating brings you benefits. The following list provides links to opportunities for you to stay connected.
Become a member
- Join the VCU Alumni Association
We also urge you to become an official member of SSWAN by joining the VCU Alumni Association. Joining the VCU Alumni Association automatically registers you as a member of SSWAN [PDF], with a portion of your alumni dues coming to the School of Social Work for alumni-related activities. For example, the school is planning continuing education events in collaboration with SSWAN in which members of the Alumni Association will have a reduced registration fee.

- Join the School of Social Work Alumni Network (SSWAN) Facebook group
A small group of School of Social Work alumni have been working over the past year to revive the School of Social Work Alumni Network. One activity has been the establishment of a Facebook page where B.S.W., M.S.W. and Ph.D. alumni can network, provide mutual social support, mentor current students, and stay updated on news, continuing education and other opportunities relevant to the field of social work. If you are not already a member of the SSWAN Facebook group, we urge you to join now and reconnect with some of your fellow graduates. Contact Myra Isaacs at (804) 828-7166 or isaacsmh@vcu.edu.

Subscribe to the school’s alumni and friends listserv
The listserv is an opportunity for our graduates and friends to receive information about the School of Social Work. In addition, the social work community is given the opportunity to advertise current positions in their specific search for a VCU SSW graduate. We also use this listserv to apprise graduates of upcoming events, such as continuing education opportunities, and to publish news about our faculty, students and alumni.
